Facebook post leads to child abuse investigation in Mission

Authorities have confirmed a child abuse investigation following public uproar over a Facebook post showing a child tied up and crying.
The photo was posted to the New Pulga Online Facebook page prompting a public outcry.
Action 4 News obtain a copy of the photo, which shows a crying child all tied up with red-colored hands.
The woman removed her post on Friday morning but a caption in Spanish reads, "So she won't bother me."
Numerous Facebook users contacted Action 4 News and the Mission Police Department about the photo.
Mission Police Lt. Jody Tittle said detectvies have identified the woman and the child but there are no criminal charges filed at this time.
Both Mission police and Child Protective Services are investigating the reports.
Anyone who sees an act of child abuse is ask to report it to the Texas Abuse Hotline at (800) 252-5400.
