Sick Twitter users have bombarded Simon Cowell’s feed with images of dead Palestinian children after he donated £90,000 to an Israeli soldiers charity.
The music mogul, who was brought up Catholic but whose father’s mother was a Jewish refugee, made the generous donation at a fundraiser in Beverley Hills last November amid claims he was using it to get in the good books of his Jewish girlfriend Lauren Silverman.
But some pro-Palestinian social-networking users have taken great offence at Cowell’s gift to the Friends of the Israel Defence Forces charity after this month’s Israeli invasion of Gaza.
And in a sick twist, they are now trolling the music mogul, 54, with disturbing images of dead Palestinian children as if trying to shame him.
Some of the messages posted on Twitter to Cowell include:
The US fundraiser was hosted by billionaire Haim Saban and raised over £12million for the cause. The charity, which was set up by Holocaust survivors in 1981, aims to provide help for IDF soldiers and bereaved families.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Cowell’s spokesman for comment.
