Savannah, Ga. – On Nov. 22, only two days before St. Louis County District Attorney Bob McCulloch announced the grand jury’s decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson, which resulted in massive riots in Ferguson, a little boy was shot in the head while he sat in a vehicle minding his own business.
The victim, 12-year-old Keith Passmore, was sitting inside a pick up truck on Vicksburg Drive, with his uncle, Christopher Martin, 20, whena black male approached the passenger side of the truck and shouted “open up.” Martin immediately hit the gas pedal, and that’s when the suspect shot the child through the closed window, according to police.
Martin quickly noticed that his nephew was “slumped over” and drove him to a local hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead.
It has not yet been disclosed how many shots were fired, but one woman six houses away from the shooting scene, found a bullet hole in her fence the following morning, WJCL reported.
Passmore was a student at Myers Middle School and loved basketball, said family members. On Friday, he was buried at Surrency City Cemetery.
One witness account described the shooting suspect as “18-20 years old, 5’10” to 6’0″ between 150-200 pounds wearing all black, including a ‘RIP’ hoodie” with a picture of someone on the front of the shirt.
Anyone with any information on this case is urged to call Savannah-Chatham Metro Police or Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020.
Aside from a couple of brief reports on this crime by local news outlets, there has been basically no coverage given to this brazen act. Of course, the national news media has failed to mention the murder.
So, why would a national press seemingly obsessed with matters of race, ignore this case?
