Gun Control Will Not Save You, Paris Edition

1/7/2015

“Short version: all of the weapons used in today’s attack in Paris were illegal, very hard to get in France, and yet it did not matter. So when something like this attack happens here – on churches, schools, malls, wherever – and the cry for gun control once again reaches a national level, over the din of sheep begging to trade their liberty for a sense of security, remember Charlie Hebdo.” – Monderno
The Jihadists methodically questioned people asking for the Editor and for Charlie Hebdo and other cartoonists. Then killed them and others. Then the murderous terrorists made their escape as a disarmed populace looked on. For criminals and terrorists, gun control makes for a safer workplace environment.
The only protection against this type of attack is a well armed populace. This type of attack WILL happen in the United States, probably soon. And the attack will almost certainly take place in an American city or location with strict gun control laws.
France and particularly Paris, has some of the strictest gun control laws on the planet. It doesn’t stop humorless Muslims from attacking a satirical newspaper and killing 12 people including two presumably armed police officers. These Muslim terrorists didn’t attack a military target, they attacked a comedic publication merely because their ideology is so fragile that they cannot tolerate any criticism of it. Gun control didn’t concern these Islamic Jihadists from getting and using AK-47s or an RPG within many layers of “Gun Free Zones.” Public officials keep telling us that Islam is a “religion of peace.” Strangely I have never heard of Presbyterians attacking anyone for making fun of their religion.
From Monderno:
Earlier today, two men armed with AK-47s and an RPG stormed the office of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris, France and killed at least 12 people. In case you forgot, Charlie Hebdo has several times in the past made fun of the “prophet” Muhammad, which at the time of writing appears to have been the motivation for this attack.
Twelve people were killed today when gunmen carried out a massacre at the offices of a notoriously anti-Islamist newspaper in Paris – including a police officer who was executed as he begged for mercy on the pavement.
Masked attackers brandishing Kalashnikovs burst into the Charlie Hebdo headquarters, opening fire on staff after seeking out journalists by name.
Clad all in black with hoods and speaking flawless French, the militants forced one of the cartoonists – who was at the office with her young daughter – to open the door.
Witnesses said the suspected Al Qaeda gunmen were heard to shout ‘the Prophet has been avenged’ and ‘Allahu akbar!’ – Arabic for ‘God is great’ – as they stalked the building.
They headed straight for the paper’s editor and cartoonist, Stephane Charbonnier, killing him and his police bodyguard, who had recruited to protect him following earlier threats.
They also killed three other renowned cartoonists – men who had regularly satirised Islam and the Prophet Mohammed – and the newspaper’s deputy chief editor.
Horrific footage emerged showing an injured police officer slumped on the pavement as two gunmen approached him outside the office minutes later.
In an apparent desperate plea for his life, the officer is seen slowly raising his hand towards one of the attackers, who responds by callously shooting him in the head at point-blank range.
Despite a shoot-out with armed officers, the ‘calm and highly disciplined’ men were able to escape in a hijacked car and remain on the loose.
