Author of report on Sandusky investigation takes Wolf job
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Gov. Tom Wolf has hired the lawyer who wrote a report commissioned by state Attorney General Kathleen Kane scrutinizing the office's handling of the Jerry Sandusky child molestation case under her predecessors.
A Wolf spokesman said Wednesday that Geoffrey Moulton is working in the Office of General Counsel.
The former federal prosecutor was the top deputy in the U.S. attorney's office in Philadelphia for five years. He assembled a U.S. Treasury Department report on the 1993 federal raid on the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas, where dozens died.
Moulton's report on the Sandusky investigation faulted police and prosecutors for long delays in bringing charges against the former Penn State defensive coach, but found no evidence that politics affected the investigation.
