Two suspects have been caught red-handed with stolen tires and car parts.
Mission police are hoping these arrests will put an end to a string of thefts spanning over two weeks.
Police said when thieves steal tires, they usually take all four.
In this case, the suspects would take two tires, and steal two more from another car which has doubled the number of victims Mission police need to locate.
A Mission judge charged 23-year-old Natanael Morales with two counts of thefts by appropriation.
The Mission Police Department caught Morales and a juvenile suspect after a victim came forward and provided a description of their vehicle.
That vehicle was located, and police found stolen tires and car parts inside.
They then got a search warrant for his home and found even more stolen items.
Police have a theory on why the bandits only stole two tire or rims at a time.
"It takes half the time to steal half as much and that’s half the chance of getting caught."
Police have returned some of the stolen items and are working to locate the owners of the unclaimed property.
They say more charges may be brought against Morales as they continue to investigate this case.
Police are still searching for other suspects who may be part of this tire theft ring.
The judge sat Morales’ bond at $100,000.
