Sam Bailey has spoken out after she was "investigated by Social Services" after an internet troll claimed the X Factor winner was 'abusing' her unborn baby.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the mother-of-three has told how is backing the government's plans to clamp down on internet trolling, after being abused by people over the internet.
The 31-year-old singer - who not so long ago gave birth to her third child, Miley - said she had "some trouble" with a woman on Facebook, who accused her of "harming" her unborn baby.
"I posted a photo of me in a nightclub when I was pregnant with Miley, pulling a silly face with mates. I don't actually drink but suddenly she had hashtagged me on Twitter, and was writing loads of things like I was harming my baby and emotionally abusing my children. The hashtag meant that any time someone typed in 'Sam Bailey', this would come up."
It turned out, the woman had reported Sam to Social Services.
"I actually got a call from them, asking me about emotionally harming my children. The school had to get involved, It was awful," she added.
The prison-officer said she even had to take a "photo of the woman into the school" because she was "petrified" she would go there and pick her children up.
Sam, who shot to fame after winning the ITV singing competition last year, said: "I had to explain to Social Security that the kids are thriving at school, that they're absolutely fine. They told me they had absolutely no concerns at all.
"The woman behind it all was contact by the police. I'm not sure what happened but she disappeared."
Following this, Sam said that she is backing government plans for custodial sentences for internet trolls.
"You shouldn't have to worry about some d***head on Twitter. It's so easy for people to sit behind a computer, doing stuff like that and saying nasty things."
What do you think? Should internet trolls be given a custodial sentence? Should there be harsher punishments for internet trolls?
