Police are investigating the robbery and assault of a pizza delivery driver in Columbia Sunday night.
An order of more than $60 worth of food was placed with Domino’s Pizza, 318 Chestnut St., Columbia, borough Officer Brent Smith said. A driver delivered it to an address in the 400 block of Walnut Street at 8:42 p.m.
He set the bag of food on the front porch so he could knock on the door and was ambushed from behind, Smith said.
A Hispanic male between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build, pulled the man’s jacket over his head and punched him in the face before fleeing with the bag of food.
The driver suffered a bloody lip, Smith said.
Police ask anyone with information to call Officer Smith at 684-7735.
