On America with Jorge Ramos this weekend, Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, was asked when life begins. She responded that the answer to that question isn’t “really relevant” to the conversation.
The host’s simple, straightforward question was met with so much hemming and hawing that he was compelled to ask her what was so controversial about saying when life begins. In reply, she not only says that the answer is not “really relevant,” but she offers a personal anecdote saying that in her case, she considered the lives of her children to have begun at delivery.
Considering Planned Parenthood’s vested interest in not admitting life begins at all during pregnancy, it is not surprising how Richards dances around the question. Not surprising, but still far outside the normin the United States, as a majority are for limiting abortion in some ways. Cecile Richards’ position puts her in the clear minority.
Planned Parenthood tries to pass itself off as a reasonable, responsible women’s health advocacy group. This is just one more reminder that they are an extreme abortion group with beliefs that are not shared by most of America.
