A teenager is behind bars after being accused of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl in Pharr.
Pharr police booked Daniel De La Garza into the Hidalgo County Jail on Friday afternoon.
The 18-year-old is facing an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge.
Court records obtained by Action 4 News show that De La Garza is accused of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl.
The girl's mother reported the case to police back on July 1st.
Records show that the mother discovered what happened after finding her daughter partially unclothed.
Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual abuse but records show that De La Garza had access to the girl through her family.
A criminal investigation ended with Pharr police securing an arrest warrant for the 18-year-old.
De La Garza remains in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail under a $200,000 dollar bond.
