A sex offender is behind bars again after failing to comply with the sex offender registry.
Fred Nicolas Gonzalez is a registered sex offender from Donna.
He served seven years behind bars for indecency with a child sexual contact, two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual assault of a child.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Gonzalez is listed as a “high” risk level sex offender.
DPS records show he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl and spent time behind bars for the crime.
The Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies booked him into the Hidalgo County Jail at 4:48 pm Thursday.
