The final suspect in a murder outside a gas station in Alton is behind bars after state troopers caught him smuggling illegal immigrants.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state troopers arrested the murder suspect late Tuesday morning.
Investigators are not releasing the suspect's name at this time but confirmed he is wanted for the death of 31-year-old Jose Luis Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was gunned down outside an Aziz Quick Stop convenience store in Alton back on December 2013.
Six men were arrested for their roles in the crime but the seventh suspect remained at large until Tuesday morning.
State troopers reported the murder suspect was arrested following a bailout off Los Ebanos Road in Mission.
Investigators said that the murder suspect was driving a car with five illegal immigrants inside.
All six of them fled but state troopers caught four of them.
One of the four men caught was identified as the suspect in the Alton murder.
The suspects remains in custody under a capital murder charge and is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday morning.
