A Mexican citizen was busted in connection to the 10 pounds of cocaine.
The bust happened at the International Bridge in Brownsville.
Authorities came into contact with a driver of a Chevrolet Equinox when it was referred to secondary inspection.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized the cocaine and turned over the smuggler to Homeland Security Investigations special agents.
“Outstanding enforcement by our CBP officers at our country’s borders has resulted in this interception of narcotics and the arrest of the alleged smuggler,” CBP Port Director Petra Horne said in a statement.
