Letter To The Editor: Sept. 21 climate march
All the world's religious and spiritual traditions affirm the interrelatedness of all life — an insight reinforced by science. That's why I feel I have a responsibility to be among those at the People's Climate March in New York City on Sept. 21 to encourage governments of the world, especially ours, to do something about climate change.
I'm hoping Lancaster's faith community will be represented. Lancaster is known as a strong community of faith, and every major denomination has issued a statement on climate change and the need to care for creation. You can see your denomination's statement at the website for Interfaith Power and Light, a community of congregations that's responding to climate change as a moral issue.
There's a Pennsylvania chapter that can help your congregation organize buses to the People's Climate March.
If you’re not able to join the People's Climate March, do something, say something or write something to one of our congressional representatives: Reps. Joe Pitts and Pat Meehan, Sens. Bob Casey and Pat Toomey.
This is a decisive moment in human history. Let's act.
